Desperation in West Brom transfer search

Desperation in West Brom transfer search
In news that will disappoint fans and players alike at West Brom the Baggies are struggling to add any new faces to the squad in this transfer window.

A great deal of work is going on behind the scenes but Albion are being left frustrated by club and player demands. Work is continuing, however, as the Baggies run through their extensively researched list of targets.

The Baggies are in the market for a new striker having been foiled in their attempt to sign John Carew. Names mentioned recently, James Beattie, Georgios Samaras and Carlos Vela are all unlikely to join.

One time Albion target Tom De Sutter fits the mould of player that the Baggies are after and he has been scouted extensively, indeed Tony Mowbray turned down the opportunity to sign him in Albion's last Premier League campaign. The big target man is currently finding it hard to get into Anderlecht's first team and could be available for loan. Perhaps Roberto will like him more than Tony did.

Albion are also looking to add competition for Gonzalo Jara at right back but there are very few players that fit the bill. Sunderland's Phil Bardsley has been mentioned constantly since the Summer but any deal for him is very unlikely.

Let's hope all of that hard work going with Dan Ashworth and his team will bear fruit.
