John Carew on way to West Brom

Aston Villa have agreed to allow West Brom to take Norwegian centre forward John Carew for the remainder of the season.

Carew will now undertake a medical and be unveiled as a West Brom player within the next 48 hours barring any last minute hitches.

Villa Manager Gerard Houllier will be relieved to see the back of Carew as the atmosphere between the two has been deadly ever since the Frenchman succeeded Martin O'Neill and Carew will be pleased to get his career back on track at West Brom. He will go straight into the squad to face Blackburn in the Sky Live game on Sunday.
