Former Wigan star set to join the Baggies

After leaving Wigan Athletic at the end of last season Paul Scharner looks to be heading to the Baggies to become their ninth summer signing.

After being frustrated by losing out on Tiote to Newcastle and Wilson to Stoke it now looks like Paul Scharner will be heading to the Hawthorns in a move that will signal the end of incoming transfer business for Albion.

Scharner's agent Valentin Hoble has been in negotiations with the Baggies for a number of days and after Newcastle pulled out of the running to sign him (following the signing of Tiote) the way is now free for the Baggies to get their man.
