Baggies to swoop for strike duo??

Baggies to swoop for strike duo??
A 3 million pound move may be on the cards for Bristol City hit man Nicky Maynard as Roberto Di Matteo looks to boost his strike force ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The former Crewe ace, who has been linked with a host of other Premier League clubs, scored 20 goals for City last seasonand could prove an ideal purchase for the Albion. Maynard boasts 63 league goals from 126 starts at an average of exactly a goal every other game.

However Bristol City are understandably reluctant to allow Maynard to leave and a valuation thought to be closer to 5 million could prove a stumbling block for a player yet to prove himself in the top flight.

Meanwhile, the Baggies have also been linked with Stoke City striker James Beattie. Beattie has fallen out of favour at the Britannia Stadium after clashing with Stoke manager Tony Pullis.

Stoke are keen to offload the striker and may not demand a fee despite having 12 months left on his contract.

Who would you like to see at the Albion? Is Maynard the man? Have your say on the forum now!
