Cup Preview - Reading v West Brom

This is a repeat of the tie last season which saw Reading progress after a replay at the Hawthorns. It also saw the end of Gonzalo Jara's season following an awful tackle that went unpunished.

Usually in cup games Premier League teams will want to give their squad players the opportunity to get an outing. In West Brom's case they have few options in defence but they can change it around a bit up front in Midfield.

Robbie's Thoughts

'For us the priority is the Barclays Premier League but we are also in a position where we want to get a win and get the positivity back.

There is a bit of history there between us and them and I would expect something similar tomorrow.

We had four games with them last season and you know how they went.

It's always very tight and it is probably going to be similar this year.

Reading Team News:

Chris Armstrong is a doubt for the and Mikele Leigertwood and Andy Griffin are doubtful.

Player to watch: Jimmy Kebe

Jimmy Kebe caused all sorts of problems last season and I am expecting the same this season.

West Brom Team News:

Scott Carson will be replaced by Boaz Myhill and Paul Scharner will return to stiffen up the back four. Gianni Zuiverloon keeps his place in the centre of defence and young full back James Hurst will retain his place. Jerome Thomas will be replace by Giles Barnes and Ishmael Miller will come in for a rare start.

Player to watch: Ishmael Miller

Big Ishy will be determined to show to the Manager that he is worthy of a starting place in the Premier League.
