Mowbray misses award

WEST Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has managed to avoid the dreaded manager of the month award.

Mowbray was one of four bosses under consideration after leading his team to the top of the table in December.

But the award went to our old friend Neil Warnock, now the man in charge at Crystal Palace.

Palace were undefeated in December, totting up 17 points from seven games.

Bristol City`s Gary Johnson and Tony Pulis of Stoke City joined Mowbray in the frame.

Manager of the month awards have been considered something of a poisoned chalice because the winning manager`s team usually loses the game immediately following the announcement.
