WEST Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray seems keen to pursue his interest in South Korean international Kim Do-heon.
Indeed reports from South Korea seem to be suggesting that a deal is as good as done and dusted, though Albion's take on the situation seems to be at odds with that optimism.
The attacking midfielder has returned home after having little chance to impress in training because of the Albion's recent tight schedule of matches.
However, he seems to have made enough of an impression on Mowbray to encourage the manager to want to have more talks with the 25-year-old's representatives.
The Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma player has returned home for his imminent wedding after taking part in just two light training sessions.
Any attempt to sign the player would inevitably be something of a gamble and Kim might find it difficult to break into a team that already has considerable midfield talent at its disposal.
Mowbray told the club website: 'Kim has undoubted quality on the ball, as you`d expect from someone who has played more than 40 times for his country.
'He is very talented, a great passer with both feet. Having only seen him train twice we won`t be putting any great funds into what would be a big gamble.`
One option might be to take Kim on loan in the New Year to see if his undoubted talents can readily be transferred from the K-League to the more demanding requirements of the Championship.
