'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Specialist' to replace Hunt

Simon Hunt, Albion`s Sporting and Technical Director (designate), has departed the club for family reason, a terse two-line official statement from the club has revealed.

The statement says that Hunt, whose family had continued to live in Hampshire since he Joined the Albion in June, had 'agreed with the club to part company`.

The statement goes on to say that Dan Ashworth, who currently heads up the the club`s academy, will be seconded to the role and that the club hopes to appoint a 'player recruitment specialist` in the near future.

Does this mean the board is quietly dropping its desire stated earlier in the season to appoint a Continental-style technical director?
