Baggies Have To Settle For A Point

West Brom missed the chance to capitalise on another Watford defeat as they had to settle for a point after taking the lead at Selhurst Park.

Mark Hudson deflected a cross into his own net to give West Brom an early before Clinton Morrison headed home to equalise for Crystal Palace in the second half. Roman Bednar, who kept his place in the West Brom side was denied a third goal in two games by the bar.

As he said West Brom manager Tony Mowbray feels that the recent schedule finally took its tool on West Brom, and they weren't quite able to dig deep enough for a win, but he was happy nevertheless: "We've had two tough away games this week and I think it took its toll today and we lacked edge and mental sharpness.

"We've played Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday and today was too much for us. The goal was a poor one to concede but the concentration wasn't there after the week we've had.

"We are disappointed the whole team never really got going but there are positives to be taken. We've had two tough away games and haven't lost."

It is Coventry at home for West Brom on Tuesday night.
