Dean Kiely Loving Baggies Life

Goalkeeper Dean Kiely describes how it felt to reach 700 games between the sticks and says why he's loving life at the Hawthorns.

'I've always set myself targets and objectives throughout my career and now I've made 700 appearances I want to make 800. That is well within my reach as I work hard and train hard and I still love the game.

'In those 700 games I've kept 228 clean sheets - around one in three - which is a ratio I'm very happy with. I think it compares really well with other keepers, but I'm not that interested in making direct comparisons or trying to say I am better than other goalkeepers.

'Now Ipswich are up at the weekend and it's a game we want to win to go above them. Our start to the season has been satisfactory but when I went up with Charlton as champions we were really consistent. At the moment it's all peaks and troughs and you waste a lot of energy picking yourself up from the setbacks.

'We need to bolt on another win to add to the Barnsley result and then try to get to four or five games unbeaten. Then we can aim for eight or nine and build some momentum. We should be gong out on automatic, knowing how we should play.'

He is a good keeper but had some great blunders at our ground to remember him by.
