Horse target for Blades

Geoff Horsfield looks set to join the recent exodus of players from The Hawthorns by joining Championship side Sheffield United.

Horsfield looks set to join United on loan until the end of the season and assist them with their promotion run in as they look to secure promotion automatically to the Premier League behind Reading.

Albion have recently cleared the decks in preparation for the second half of the season as they look to clear some of the dead wood from the squad.

Horsfield joined Albion during their second promotion season and quickly established himself as a fan favourite. The Horse as he was nicknamed impressed the fans with some battling displays and his commitment was never a question.

Horsfield started the season first choice and scored 4 goals in as many games putting him top of the goal charts ahead of Thierry Henry, an injury then lost him his place in the team and he has not been able to get his starting place back.

With Nathan Ellington, Kanu, Kevin Campbell and Rob Earnshaw at the club Horsfield can not be guaranteed first team football and at this stage of his career Albion have granted Neil Warnock permission to take him to Brammall Lane until the end of the season.
