AJ going back home

Yet another Baggie from the Gary Megson era is set to leave the club as Albion clear the decks for new additions to the squad.

Midfielder Johnson is set to join Darren Moore in exiting the club as he heads home to Bristol.

Johnson has been linked with a number of clubs in the last few months and last figured in the Baggies first team in the home defeat to Charlton last September. Coventry, Leeds and former club Nottingham Forest have all been linked to the midfielder.

Andy Johnson's agent Gary Porter said, 'There are other clubs in the equation and Andy is deciding what will be his best move, although he may still decide to remain with Albion.'

Albion have recently added to their midfield with the loan signing of Jan Kozak from Artmedia Bratislava pushing Johnson further down the pecking order in midfield.

The deal is expected to be finalised before the closing of the transfer window with Porter adding, 'Bristol Rovers are obviously a big draw because he supported them as a young lad.'

Thanks for what you have helped make possible at Albion, just like Big Dave you played your part and I would like to wish you all the best with the rest of your career AJ.
