Albion confirm Slovak deal

Kozak has joined Albion on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move after his loan has finished.

The Artmedia Bratislava midfielder is the fourth player to leave the club on loan this season and will be looking to earn a move in the summer if all goes well.

The 25-year-old Slovakian could be in line to make his debut next Tuesday at Charlton in place of the suspended Ronnie Wallwork.

At 6ft 4in he will add some much needed strength and height to the Baggies midfield.

Baggies boss Robson said, 'I was really impressed with Jan when I saw his performances in the Champions League against Porto and Rangers.

'We had him watched and then brought him over for a few days to look at him in training.

'Jan is an attacking central midfielder. He is very skilful and can create and score goals.

'Hopefully, he will bring those attributes to the club.'

Kozak has a good return on the goal front this season netting a goal every three games for Artmedia and hopefully he will continue this trend with Albion.

Kozak is the third Slovakian to have signed for Albion and hopefully he will have as big an impact with the Baggies fans as former Slovak Igor Balis.

Albion have also been linked with Real Betis midfielder Arzu although there doesn't seem to be a response from Albion concerning him.

Arzu is also a midfielder and is contracted to the Spanish club until 2010.

Arzu has admitted that he is flattered by the interest shown but at the moment he is concentrating on helping keep Betis in the La Liga.
