Albion Net Martis

Albion Net Martis

West Bromwich Albion have signed former Darlington Defender Shelton Martis from Scottish club Hibernian for £50,000.

Martis, 24 moves to the Hawthorns for just £50,000. It is the second time the Dutch centre-back has been signed by Albion boss Tony Mowbray.

The Dutchman made 34 appearances for Hibernian last season in the Scottish Premier League and Mowbray believes he could go on to better things; 'He`s got huge potential which is why I want to give him the platform to perform.'

Mowbray added: 'He`s not the finished article but he could become a very good player for our football club.'
