Davies Bid Rejected

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a 10,000,000 offer from Portsmouth for defender Curtis Davies, who is also wanted by Tottenham and Birmingham City.

The Blues are expected to table a bid for the former Luton Town defender who wants away from the Hawthorns and return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile it has emerged that the Baggies rejected a bid from Portsmouth who are keen to sign the defender.

If the baggies want 10m + for him let them wait for someone stupid enough to pay it. 1 failed season in the prem & he is the next John Terry. Is there a giraffe on the WBA badge?

yep agreed this is simply not true... it was reported that pompey maybe did bid something along this amount but my thinking was this was a yr ago and robson didn't even tell the player until it was too late? i would not quite say we would never pay 10m for anyone - as you never know, we can live in hope...

This sounds remarkably like the kind of tosh that the players agent might drum up if he was trying to get a few bids from other clubs in. We've got at least 10 defenders now, why would we try and sign this lad - he wouldn't even make the first team! And for ten million! He's probably worth 2.5 to 4 million at most!

10million? you should bite their arm off. you can strengthen your squad no end with that kind of money.

10m is silly money. I would think an offer in the region of 5-6m + performance related add ons would be a fair price for both parties. I am sure Mowbury wont want to keep an unhappy player next season.
