Davies Bid Rejected

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a 10,000,000 offer from Portsmouth for defender Curtis Davies, who is also wanted by Tottenham and Birmingham City.

The Blues are expected to table a bid for the former Luton Town defender who wants away from the Hawthorns and return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile it has emerged that the Baggies rejected a bid from Portsmouth who are keen to sign the defender.

Absolute crap, Pompey are full of defenders, another bit of media play

nope, dont want, dont need, and would never pay 10 million for anyone - not even ronaldo...harry just wont spend that much.
pompeycarpet
bet he would for defoe and i know that for a fact!
simmo10
If the baggies want 10m + for him let them wait for someone stupid enough to pay it. 1 failed season in the prem & he is the next John Terry. Is there a giraffe on the WBA badge?
storagematt
yep agreed this is simply not true... it was reported that pompey maybe did bid something along this amount but my thinking was this was a yr ago and robson didn't even tell the player until it was too late? i would not quite say we would never pay 10m for anyone - as you never know, we can live in hope...
pompeyrug
cant see that one flying, sadly, simmo10 very sadly we dont have 10million to spend or we would have bought the striker we desperatley need by now. Lets not be offensive storagematt, no need for that
russellm
hes not even worth that much ffs
dazspurs
No thanks you lot can keep him rather have Kaboul.
Frisky
Offensive russellm, where?
storagematt
just a little question - your poll "who will win the 2007 championship playoffs" - im sorry to say it, but they have been and gone, and, with deepest regrets, derby won. Im amazed 45% of you havnt realied yet!
pompeycarpet
This sounds remarkably like the kind of tosh that the players agent might drum up if he was trying to get a few bids from other clubs in. We've got at least 10 defenders now, why would we try and sign this lad - he wouldn't even make the first team! And for ten million! He's probably worth 2.5 to 4 million at most!
Tantona
10 million? Bite their hands off...now!
sandgroanun
10million? you should bite their arm off. you can strengthen your squad no end with that kind of money.
Dales_Dad
10m is silly money. I would think an offer in the region of 5-6m + performance related add ons would be a fair price for both parties. I am sure Mowbury wont want to keep an unhappy player next season.
