Athletic Place Koumas Bid

Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic have placed a last bid of 5,000,000 to land Albion Midfielder Jason Koumas with Reading, Everton, Fulham, Celtic and Birmingham City still interested.

Chris Hutchings, the new manager of Wigan Athletic is keen to make the former Tranmere Rovers Midfielder his fifth signing before the new season having already captured; Titus Bramble, Antoine Sibierski, Mario Melchiot and Andreas Granqvist.

However the Latics are not prepared to go over the five million mark which could cause alarm bells to the other clubs who are chasing him if there bid fails.
