Coventry City have appealed over the red card shown to defender Ben Turner after he was sent off last Saturday in 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
Turner, 19 was making his fourth appearance for the Ricoh Arena club, but was sent off after a lunging tackle on Albion striker Kevin Phillips just before the break.
City manager Iain Dowie, who was also sent off insists that the challenge wasn't worthy of a sending off offence and have appealed against the decision.
'With Ben it was a bad tackle, a booking, end of story. I thought a red card was very harsh.' Dowie commented in a post match interview.
If they card still stands the then Turner will miss the remaining game of the season at Burnley on Sunday as well as the first two games of the 2007-08 season - Turner is expected to lose his appeal.
