Pulis Looking For An Upset
West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has said that the side will 'give it the best we've got' when we face Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
Hosting Pep Guardiola's side at The Hawthorns tomorrow evening for an 8pm kick off in the League Cup third round, Pulis knows it'll be an incredibly tough game against a clearly talented and quality side, but that doesn't mean we are going to roll over and let them walk into the fourth round draw.
Speaking to wba.co.uk as he met with the press earlier today for his pre game press conference, Pulis' attitude to the game was clear and given City's current form in the Premier League - the latest being a six nil hammering of Watford last weekend - he also knew in many ways we had nothing to lose and that takes all the pressure off the side.
'I don`t think we`ve got anything to lose - City are on fire at the moment. Everybody expects them to be close to winning the league this year so it`ll be a tough game. We`ll put out a strong team, have a go at it and give it the best we've got.'
With Pulis' record in Cup competitions across his managerial career, including an FA Cup Final with Stoke City and our quarter final in 2015, he's certainly not downplaying the competition or prioritising the Premier League campaign and he wants to see us try and take the game to them.
'We really want to do well in the two cup competitions this year. We've got a home tie, irrespective of who it's against. It's up to us to take the game to them. It'll be a great game for the supporters.'
