Six To Miss Port Vale?

Six To Miss Port Vale?

West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has received a positive injury update following Bristol Rovers as we look to games against Port Vale and Deportivo La Coruna.

We head to Vale Park on Tuesday evening with a trip to Spain the following Saturday, and whilst we do have issues, the problems sustained by Chris Brunt and James McClean haven't proven as serious as first feared.

Brunt was substituted in the first half of the two one defeat to Bristol Rovers last weekend with a minor calf injury whilst McClean was taken off second half with what appeared to be a knee problem.

Testing has shown Brunt has a minor issue with his calf but it's nothing to be overly concerned about, and scans for McClean revealed a bruised bone in his knee.

Both will miss the Port Vale clash but will be assessed ahead of the trip to the Estadio Riazor at the weekend.

Matt Phillips reported a tight hamstring ahead of the game in the warm up and he'll be assessed ahead of the final friendlies with a view to maybe a bit of rest ahead of the Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

Jake Livermore had also reported a sore knee and could miss out on Tuesday to rest up as well.

We're yet to see James Morrison and Gareth McAuley as they deal with respective knee and thigh injuries.
