West Brom Close To Defender Loan

West Brom Close To Defender Loan

It was being reported over the weekend that West Bromwich Albion were now close to the capture of Al Ahly's Egyptian international Ahmed Hegazy.

filgoal reported over the weekend that they'd spoken to director of football administration Richard Garlick who confirmed the player was now close to joining the squad.

'Of course we know what he has and the talent he has. He is an international defender and he has the talent and strength we need in our team. Hegazi fits the quality of the players we like to be in our team. He will have a thorough medical examination, and we are not worried about his past with the injury.'

Garlick added.

'We very much hope that the deal will take place within the next 24 hours, and then we will complete some papers to join the Hong Kong preparation camp. Hegazi is the perfect replacement for our veteran defender Jonas Olsson who left during the summer.'

According to reports the fee for the loan will be £850,000 but it will be with a view to making the deal permanent either in January or at the end of the campaign for a fee of around the £4million mark.
