Pulis Seeks Burnley Midfielder?

Pulis Seeks Burnley Midfielder?

It was reported yesterday that West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis was targeting Burnley midfielder Scotty Arfield.

With plenty of links to a proposed £15million offer for Everton's James McCarthy this summer as Puls now attempts to replace former skipper Darren Fletcher following his switch to Stoke City, Arfield presents as a more likely candidate given respective valuations.

The Sun reported that West Brom had joined Hull City and Fulham in looking at the 28 year old midfielder, and that we'd be prepared to pay up to £2.5million with him only having 12 months left on his existing contract.

Arfield is a Canadian international and although it's believed Sean Dyche would be unwilling to sell to a Premier League rival, going into his last year would obviously feature.

Having arrived at Burnley on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town back in the summer of 2013, he's been a regular under Dyche since making over 150 starting appearances, with 36 appearances coming last season as they avoided the drop.

With the relative fee here, the news of James Morrison's international injury could well mean there is something to this.
