Evans Not Looking For Summer Departure
Jonny Evans has said that although he does have ambitions to play abroad before he hangs up his boots, he's not thinking of departing this summer.
With Tony Pulis always admitting that if a big offer came in for Evans, it would be difficult for the club to hang onto him, the 29 year old told Sky Sports that an imminent move certainly wasn't on the cards.
With speculation linking some bigger clubs to him for this summer, Evans said he believed that Pulis' recent words were just designed to give him a confidence boost.
'Maybe he's trying to get rid of me - has he had enough? It gives you confidence when the manager appreciates you. It shows his belief that you've done a good job and hope I can continue doing that for West Brom.'
As for his abroad ambitions, having joined for £6million back in August 2015 from Manchester United and now with 65 appearances to his name, he went on to say.
'I've always been interested by football outside of Britain. It's something I've always kept an eye on. When you get asked that question you're not going to say 'no I'll never go there' because you never know. But it's something I've thought 'maybe one day I'll give it a try'.'
Evans is likely to be skipper you would think next season following the departure of Darren Fletcher to Stoke City the other day.
