Pulis Previews Manchester City
Head coach Tony Pulis has confirmed that Matt Phillips will again be missing for tonight's trip to Manchester City.
Heading to the Etihad Stadium for tonight's 8pm kick off, the winger is still unfortunately suffering with the hamstring injury he picked up in the build up to the Leicester City fixture at the end of April.
Gareth McAuley is also likely to be missing for the game following the thigh injury that saw him leave the pitch in Friday's defeat to Chelsea.
A late decision on Hal Robson-Kanu however with his hamstring injury will need to be made.
Speaking to wba.co.uk as he met with the media pre game, Pulis explained.
'Matty won`t be fit. I don`t think Gareth will be fit for the trip to Manchester City because of the injury he picked up against Chelsea. We are hoping that he will be fine for the game at Swansea on Sunday.'
Pulis went on to add.
'We will have to wait and see with Hal and make a last-minute decision. We are heading to Manchester City, who are one of the best sides in the league, off the back of playing the best team in the league on Friday night. We know that it`s going to be very tough physically.'
The Birmingham Mail also have him talking about the possibility of missing out on eighth place in the table.
'Having been eighth for so long, it`d be disappointing to relinquish it but if it happens it happens. If they hadn`t turned up in games, I could criticise them but everyone has been playing at their maximum. Final third looks an obvious question to answer.'
As for the summer.
'I`m going over on Monday to meet Mr Lai an the rest of the Chinese people that run the club. We`ll analyse the season and the way they see the club pushing on. I`ll fly over on Monday. John will be on the plan with Richard and Martin and we`ll take it from there and know where we are then.'
