'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Duke backs Baggies

Ellington remains confident that Albion can pick up enough points against the 'bigger' teams over the next couple of weeks to pull clear of the danger zone.

Albion have to travel to Old Trafford and to Anfield over the next 2 weeks and they also entertain the impressive Tottenham at The Hawthorns.

Ellington has settled in now at Albion and started to show why Albion spent three million on him. Ellington has impressed with his performances so far for Albion and was dissapointed at the weekends result.

'The least we could have hoped for at Portsmouth was a draw,'' said Ellington.

''But we came away with nothing and were very disappointed especially as it ended our unbeaten run.

'They might have had a bit more spark because Harry Redknapp was back in charge. That normally happens when a manager arrives on the scene.

'But their players are no different to ours. They don't have super powers just because the manager has come back. We under-achieved on Saturday.

'Now we've got a very tough schedule over Christmas - especially with the number of games in such a short space of time.

'But, although everybody is disappointed with Saturday's performance, the confidence is still there that we can nick some points off teams we're not expected to nick points off.'

Let's hope that Ellington is right and we put in some improved performances over the Christmas period and that we all have a good Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year to all Albion fans from WBA Vital News.
