'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wallwork Grateful To Well Wishers

West Brom midfielder Ronnie Wallwork has not been short of messages of support from former team mates and managers from the football world.

The 29 year old was stabbed outside a nightclub in Manchester last week and still remains in a serious condition.

His agent Neil Sillett revealed that the player had been contacted by many of his friends in the football world and he has been grateful to the well wishers.

Sillett said: 'Due to the level of interest in Ronnie's health and well-being, we have to say that Ronnie remains in a serious condition in hospital.

'At this stage, it is premature to state when he might return to playing football again.

'But he is receiving excellent treatment and he would like to take this opportunity to thank all the doctors and others in charge of his care.

'Ronnie's family and close friends have been at his bedside in hospital and he has received many calls and good wishes from current and former team-mates and managers.

'Ronnie is really grateful for all of those calls, but he has been advised that for him to recuperate fully and as quickly as possible, he should as of now be contacted only by his family circle.'
