Robson has stated in the past that the Albion left back deserved a chance to shine for England after impressing this season.
Robson backed his man when Ashley Cole got injured in the build up to Englands last few friendlies and said that if Robbo was called upon he would not let anyone down.
He said, “He is aggressive but also shows more quality on the ball than most people give him credit for. I do feel if Ashley Cole is injured, then there is a strong case for Paul Robinson to get his chance with England.”
Talking about his performances, Robson said, “Paul Robinson has done absolutely nothing wrong in the year or so since I’ve been here. He’s come up against all the best wide players in the Premiership and no-one really gives him a problem because he is very quick.'
Jonathon Greening has also praised the performances of his team mate. Greening said “Paul Robinson is a massive player for us. He puts himself through everything for the cause.
“He has been playing well enough to get into the England squad and he has the character for such a challenge so, you never know, he might make the World Cup squad. He deserves an opportunity.”
In the meantime Robinson is getting his head down and concentrating on keeping Albion in the Premier League.
When asked about the rumours he said, “I am a committed player and I want to play as well as I can for West Brom and do as well as I can and get them as high up the league as possible.'
“Everyone talks about England but that is not in my hands. I just have to get on and keep trying to play well.
He also praised the effect that playing for Bryan Robson has had on his game, 'I think I’ve come on a lot under Bryan Robson.'
Only time will tell if Sven remembers where The Hawthorns is. When he does find his way there he will find a full back in form, Robinson is a fans favourite and many believe that he deserves the opportunity to play on the International stage.
