West Bromwich Albion’s Jason Koumas has reiterated his claim that he wishes to stay on at Cardiff City permanently. The Welsh Wizard has become surplus to requirements at Albion and they would surely cash in on him if Cardiff were to come up with an acceptable offer for him.
Koumas was interviewed after impressing and scoring the winning goal against Leeds United on Saturday and said: “I’ve got three years left on my contract at West Brom, but I don’t want to go back there.”
“I’m hoping Cardiff can find the money to sign me. I’m really enjoying my football at the moment and I believe that the team has a good chance of finishing in the top six.”
Cardiff are currently sitting fifth in the Coca Cola Championship and looking a good bet for a play-off spot. Koumas has been instrumental in Cardiff’s turnaround in fortunes scoring eight goals so far this season.
With January fast approaching it remains to be seen if anyone else shows an interest in Koumas. His performances have been impressive for Cardiff and it can only be a matter of time until someone else becomes interested in him. One thing is for sure Koumas will not pull on an Albion shirt again. Both Bryan Robson and Jason Koumas have stated this in the past so the sooner a potential new club comes in with an acceptable offer for Jason, the better it is for him and for West Bromwich Albion.
