Starlet On Loan To Pirates

West Brom`s young striker Stuart Nicholson has joined League Two Bristol Rovers on a month's loan.

Nicholson hasn`t started in the league for the Baggies first team so far but has made one substitute appearance at Luton when he came on in the 76th minute.

The 19 year old has also made two appearances in the Carling Cup scoring on both occasions against Leyton Orient and Cheltenham Town. He was on the bench for the Baggies last game against Norwich.

Nicholson will go straight into the Pirates squad for Saturday's trip to Bury but will be able to play no part in Rovers` FA Cup games.

Albion boss Tony Mowbray said: 'We feel Stuart needs to go out and play some League football, as opposed to just doing well in the reserves.

'It is important he gets some league experience. Hopefully, he will score some goals for Bristol and come back and be pushing to get a place in and around the first team.'
