'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brunt Makes 250th Appearance

Skipper Chris Brunt notched up his 250th West Bromwich Albion appearance when we entertained Sunderland last weekend.

Having moved to us all those years ago, opening the season with some renewed hope and optimism following last year a point wasn't bad given the positives that could be taken from the match, such as Berahino's continued development, and whilst speaking about his milestone in our colours, Brunt told wba.co.uk about the good vibe and feeling that we have in the dressing now now.

'The lads have been great this season and we're working hard for each other. It's a squad game more than ever now and you've got to support everybody around the place, whether you're playing or not. We've got a good vibe around the place and the lads are doing well together, if we can keep that going we will have a good chance this season.'

Another of the positives that Brunt picked out is that the club aren't done in the transfer market and whilst some new signings have been with us for longer than others yet, everybody is still yet to naturally gel together so he feels the team can only get better and improve more in the coming weeks.

Given it was his 250th he admits there was a natural disappointment in the dressing room at full time because everybody wanted the win and thought we had done enough to take it, and of course he would've liked to have marked that game with three points for personal reasons.

However, he again references the positives that can be taken from the match as in some ways being more important at this stage of the season for everybody at the club.
