'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre Stoke Injury News

Head coach Pepe Mel has given an update on our injury problems ahead of the final game of the season against Stoke City this weekend.

35 year old Zoltan Gera still remains a huge doubt in another injury hit campaign, and he hasn't trained at all since suffering a hamstring injury five weeks ago when coming on as a substitute in the game against Norwich.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Mel said.

'Gera has not trained with the team since his injury, so it really is very difficult, almost impossible that he'll play.'

Steven Reid remains a doubt having been forced off in the Sunderland game at half time with a niggly groin issue after only just returning from injury again himself.

Jonas Olsson wasn't risked, and remained on the bench so he should be alright this weekend you'd think, and again Billy Jones wasn't risked but it remains to be seen if the extra rest will have worked for him.

'Jones didn't make the trip and Olsson, we're saving him because there was a great risk he wouldn't be able to play against Stoke City.'

Morgan Amalfitano was also rested so he should be fine.
