Injury Worries Really Mount For Mel

With Gareth McAuley and Victor Anichebe limping out of today's game against Hull City, our injury situation looks even more dire as we prepare to bounce back against Cardiff City in our next game.

Anichebe left the field first just inside of the final 15 minutes, and McAuley followed not long after on 79, and the stand in skipper on the day now has a calf problem to contend with, whilst Anichebe seems to have pulled his hamstring.

Whilst the full extent of the injuries aren't yet known, at least at the moment it doesn't look good so both are initially at least doubtful ahead of the Cardiff game next weekend, but there is time you would hope for recovery.

With Jonas Olsson out via suspension, Billy Jones and Claudio Yacob with hamstring issues, and Chris Brunt, Morgan Amalfitano and Diego Lugano also out with knee problems the squad is shrinking at a remarkable speed at the moment.

All are doubtful for the next game and Olsson will also serve his final games ban against Cardiff, so we will have to see what the week brings in terms of better news.
