Skipper - Urgent Improvement Needed

Albion skipper Chris Brunt has said that the team desperately need to improve their points haul as this season simply hasn't been good enough.

The Baggies are precariously placed above the relegation zone this season and even a slight hiccup will see us drop into the bottom spots, but this weekend we face off against bottom placed Fulham and it's the perfect opportunity for us to take all three points and hopefully build up a proper gap over the bottom spots.

Even more important we do so when you factor in that Sunderland have a game in hand and we are only above them based on goal difference at the moment.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Brunt also said the team really needed the fans at this stage and not only called on them to give their number levels of support, but asked them to really raise the roof to help drive the players on.

'Saturday is a big game and it comes off the back of a good result against Chelsea. It's important that we begin doing better in our home games because we haven't done overly well in them this season. That said, the last three matches have been good results against teams who are doing well. It's important we follow that up with a win against a team who are down and around us.'

Brunt goes on to say that this has in fact been our main problem this season, we haven't performed well or taken results off teams we can expect to win against, we have only taken 11 points off teams in the bottom half, yet we have taken 13 points off those in the top half.

If we were beating teams we should be beating, we'd be well away from danger, and that's exactly what we need to start doing now.

Starting with Fulham, our captain believes that we need to pick up a minimum of four wins from our final 12 games to secure our safety this season, and Brunt can't underestimate how important Fulham now is, saying it's probably the most important game we have had in 2-3 seasons.

Beat Fulham and things will look a lot healthier, lose....
