Mel - We Have To Be In This Together

Head coach Pepe Mel has called on everyone to pull together as we look to move ourselves up the table and away from the relegation zone.

Four games have gone since Mel was appointed as our new head coach and he has recently appointed David Gomez to the coaching staff, and as we head into the game against Chelsea tomorrow, Mel has said he understands where we are and the position we are in, but he feels we can more than get out of this if we all pull together and fight for the same cause.

Speaking to wba.co.uk, Mel explained.

'The transfer window has closed and we must work with the players we've got, along with the fans and everyone else - we need to achieve this altogether. David (Gomez) is very important as is the fact he speaks perfect English and knows the way I like to train. Of course I am working with Keith on a day to day basis, but it's important to have David here also.'

Mel goes on to say that all of the players have an important role to play, whether they are in the first team or not, and with 13 games left, even though Chelsea and a victory are hardly likely to go in the same sentence following the game, if we can grab ourselves a point it would be massive.

Mel adds that he knew what the score was when he took the job, but he's no 'wimp' and he was employed to keep us in the league and that's what he's going to achieve.
