Bookie's In Surprise Anelka Link

Bookie's In Surprise Anelka Link

Sky Bet have Nicolas Anelka as odds on to join Albion this summer - which may surprise some.

The 34 year old striker is said to be keen on a return to the Premiership after an unhappy spell at Shanghai Shenhua, before he moved to Juventus on loan.

Albion aren't the only club linked with him but the odds are most certainly in our favour.

West Ham are at 7/2, Crystal Palace are 16/1 as are Fulham and Southampton have an outside chance at 33/1.

Chris Spicer of Sky Bet explained that although the number of stakes going down on the player hasn't been high, it's the volume of the stakes that have been placed that have got tongues wagging.

Certainly a left field link for Albion who generally go for unknowns for permanent deals, but Anelka would certainly offer us something different and would bring with him a host of experience as if the deal comes off we would become his 6th Premiership side in his career.
