Reid - Don't Get Complacent

Steven Reid has said Albion cannot afford to think they are now safe in the Premiership following our league finish last season, and we can't allow complacency to set in.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Reid said his team mates could learn from his experience at Blackburn where they thought they had arrived in the Premiership and it then all slightly went wrong the following season, but as long as we learn from mistakes last year and dig in like we did, there is no reason we can't aim to replicate what we achieved last season.

'Hopefully we can build on last season. Finishing where we did shows what a good squad we had. So, you would hope we keep as many of the players that did well for us as we can and hopefully we can bring in a few more players in to build on that squad because you can quite easily finish the season sixth, seventh, or eighth and the following season you can be dragged into a relegation dogfight.'

Reid adds that the form we finished the season in should serve as a good grounding for the players when they returned, as it was basically relegation form and we survived well only due to our first half of the season form. What we need now is better consistency as the season draws on.
