'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vydra, Benayoun & Tamas

Gabriel Tamas has said he wants to fight for his place at Albion and we are linked with Yossi Benayoun and Matej Vydra.

First up Tamas. The Birmingham Mail say that Gabriel Tamas wants the chance to fight for his first team place with him having one year left on his contract.

His agent John Kirtland explained that the player was raring to go (despite recent other press coverage which the club don't seem to be set to act on, despite obviously not being happy) for pre season and that he was going to give it his all, and then maybe assess his options in the New Year if he hasn't managed to work his way into Steve Clarke's plans.

'He's settled at West Brom and is determined to impress. We will look and see where he is during the season. If Gabi is still at West Brom but not playing, then we will reassess around Christmas time.'

The Daily Mail have us linked with 33 year old Israel international Yossi Benayoun. He's moved a around a fair bit in the last few years and if memory serves I'm sure we were linked with him last summer and he's commented that he should know where he will continue his football at the weekend.

I would doubt it would be Albion to be fair.

The final link of the day is to Watford's Matej Vaydra.

Te link comes from the Express and Star who say we have joined the race along with a number of other clubs for the Czech Republic international. He scored 20 goals during his loan spell at Watford from Udinese last season.

Now Vydra is said to be very happy at Watford and given both Watford and Udinese have the same owner group or something like that, you wouldn't think if he moves permanently it would be anywhere but back to his loan club last season.

The same report also links 28 year old Macnelly Torres saying that his current club Atletico Nacional would be happy to loan him out next season and he's already apparently set his sights on England.

Out of all of them, this one seems more plausible as it's likely Marcus Rosenberg maybe moving on.
