Reid Set To Depart, Gera In Talks?

It's being reported that Albion and Steven Reid have failed to reach an agreement on a new deal, but that negotiations with Zoltan Gera are still taking place.

The 32 year old right back started 11 games last season for Clarke and talks were held about extending his stay here, but it now seems he may depart on July 1 when his contract officially expires.

Sky say that despite not reaching an agreement with us, three other Premiership sides have made contact with him as well as a number of Championship clubs.

Tweeting, Reid said.

'Whatever happens in the next few weeks I've had an unbelievable time at West Brom last 3yrs. Fans, players and staff have all been a pleasure.'

As for Zoltan Gera, his agent rubbished reports that the 34 year old was set to leave Albion, saying all parties are interesting in finalising another deal.

'This is not true. Zoltan's contract expires and he is free to sign anywhere, but this doesn't mean that West Brom don't want to keep him. We are having talks, the negotiations are going well and we hope that a new contract will be signed within one or two weeks.'

Nice to see an agent actively talking up a deal with us!
