Clarke Promises Tough Pre Season

Clarke Promises Tough Pre Season

Steve Clarke has warned the players they face another tough pre season campaign as he wants them all fighting fit for the new season.

Clarke was pleased with last summer's preparation and he's looking to repeat that with the club hoping again to improve on our league finish last season and fix a few problems we had in the second half of the campaign.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke explained.

'Last year pre season was good, the players were excellent, they took on everything that we gave them, all the different ideas. We came out the other side, and hit the ground running.'

Clarke says he felt the players got a little nervous with how results went in the pre season campaign, but he wasn't worried as it's all about fitness for him and results are of no consequence until the league campaign kicks off.

Clarke also explained that whilst nobody is inbound at the moment, he does want to have most of his new players at the club for as much of pre season training as he can, simply because it gives them longer to adjust to their teammates and the tactics.
