Steven Reid has said that if Albion switched off now we have hit 40 points, we don't deserve to play in the Premier League.
Speaking to wba.co.uk with safety now effectively secured in the league, Reid said that the players' own pride will still see us fight for every point we can get between now and the end of the season, let alone the bonus of our highest placed finish nor the possibility of an outside run for a European place driving us on.
The players certainly won't switch off, and think their jobs are done now.
'It comes down to personal pride and how far you want to go and how much you want to achieve as a player. If you just sack it off at 40 points you don't really deserve to be playing in the Premier League. We've got to the 40 point mark and it's up to us players to see how far we kick on. We know we've got the ability, so it will come down to personal pride and desire.'
Reid adds that gaining our best ever points haul, Premier League finish and the chance of European football should just be the icing on the cake for what has been a pretty phenomenal season already for the club.
But nothing can be taken for granted yet, there are games left to be won, and we have to take them one at a time.
