Ashworth Departs For FA Role
Dan Ashworth leaves the club today in order to start his new role at the FA on Monday.
The club have given the 41 year old permission to leave for his new job earlier than anticipated after a successful handing over period to Richard Garlick, however, as part of this agreement he remains available to the club for one day a week until the summer.
Speaking to wba.co.uk the chairman said.
'Dan has worked tirelessly for this football club for the past 9 years and leaves with our best wishes. He has remained fully committed to his club responsibilities since it was announced he would be leaving, for which I would like to thank him. The handover process with Richard has gone extremely well and we now look forward to Richard building on the solid foundations laid by Dan.'
Dan also talks about his mixed feelings at departing the club, but it was a new challenge and he can look back on what he achieved with us with pride.
