'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hopefully The Final Odemwingie Roundup

Bit of a mix of things that have come out following his deadline day non move to QPR.

Various media outlet's are saying that the players hung a QPR shirt on his dressing room hanger for when he returned to the club :-)

Steve Clarke told wba.co.uk that he hoped there was a way back for the striker, because he did still figure in his plans.

'When we decide that the time is right for Peter to come back into training, we will address that situation and he will be back in. Given the discussion I had with him this morning, I think he still has a part to play for West Bromwich Albion and I think he understands that. The conversation Dan Ashworth, Richard Garlick and I had with him this morning was quite brief but he didn't give us any indication the situation would escalate any further than it already has. To be honest, it has escalated too far already.'

Obviously the question was asked about Carlos Tevez history with Man City and if Clarke thought it may go that way.

'Let's get this clear, Peter and I have always had a really good relationship. Although this will test that relationship a little it, hopefully going forward we will still have that relationship. Everybody makes mistakes in life, you just have to try and recover from those mistakes as best you can. Maybe he has to apologise. Maybe he has to get picked first. Maybe he has to show his team mates he is willing to help them, he has to do well in the games.'

Odemwingie will obviously miss the game tomorrow, which was explained in the earlier referenced meeting.

Hopefully this can be the end to the matter, but there are some reports with Odemwingie saying he believed he had permission and he's quoted saying the club had even sorted out contractual bonuses that would need to be paid in the event of a move away, there are others saying that he has turned down a return to Russia which was offered by the club.

Draw a line and move on, in all our best interests.
