Darren Moore Moves On

Darren Moore Moves On

Our Academy Development Coach, Darren Moore, has moved to Blackburn to join Michael Appleton.

The Albion legend moves to become Rovers' first team coach.

Designate Richard Garlick told wba.co.uk.

'Darren was a terrific servant to the club during his playing days and it's been great to have him back working with the Academy. We didn't want to lose Darren but can understand why he wanted to pursue Blackburn's interest and we wish him and Michael all the best at Eqood Park.'

The statement certainly gives a glowing reference. Daft question maybe if he's a club legend but is he any good will he be a decent 1st team coach? Or is the goodwill primarily down to his playing career?

He took our development role so he could start learning the ropes and he always wanted to move into coaching and progress up. Time will tell if it's too big a leap too soon for him, goodwill from both playing days but also his attitude and professionalism.
