Albion Reject Olsson Bid

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they have rejected a bid from QPR for Jonas Olsson.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Steve Clarke said we weren't looking to sell anybody this window, and that Jonas Olsson certainly was not for sale.

'A bid came in from QPR for Jonas. We turned it down flat and we don't encourage anymore bids because he's not for sale. We don't want to sell anyone. For us, it's not a difficult situation, it's easy to say no.'

However following speculation of a release clause in Jonas' contract, Clarke added.

'There is a clause in Jonas' contract that comes into play during the summer window, but there are only six clubs that can invoke it. I think Jonas just wanted to put something in his contract that maybe gave him the possibility to play for some big clubs in the Premier League. I'm not concerned about the summer.'

You'd have to presume it gives Olsson a European chance, so any of the top six clubs come the end of the season, and if we get back on track, who knows how close we might be ourselves to that come the end of the campaign.
