Clarke Praises Defensive Strength

Clarke Praises Defensive Strength

Steve Clarke has hailed the back four following the West Ham game, picking out the fullbacks especially.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the match, Clarke said.

'Defensively I thought we were strong. We wanted to put in a strong defensive performance to make sure the worst we got was a point and that's what it turned out we had to accept. Goran (Popov) was one of a number of good performers for us. I thought Billy Jones on the other side was good as well. The back four were strong and solid. It's good for Goran because he's not had too many starts and it's good to see he is settling into the Premier League.'

It's starting to look like Popov could be a very good capture for us as he seems to be growing everytime we see him. Not there yet, but the signs are certainly good.
