Myhill Proves Squad Depth

Myhill Proves Squad Depth

Steve Clarke singled out Boaz Myhill as proof of the strength we have in depth at the club now, because he knew he'd never let us down.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke explained that he knew he could rotate people around each game, whether to cover injuries or simply to try something different, because he knows those he brings in won't let us down.

Ok, that didn't quite work against Liverpool in the Cup, but we've moved on a bit since then.

'Boaz was fantastic. When called upon he made the saves and his handling was assured. He was great last week at Wigan and I had no doubts Boaz wouldn't let us down, he has waited a long time for his chance. I'm not surprised because I see him every day in training, and I see that in a number of players in the squad. I can make one or two changes every week and the performance of the team never suffers.'

That's certainly going to be key for us as the season progresses, suspensions and injuries hit, and whilst we still have 'key players' we can at least know the determination and effort will be there when somebody needs to step up now.
