Ridge - We're No Fluke

Ridge - We're No Fluke

Liam Ridgewell has said that Southampton was probably our biggest test yet, but we deserve to be where we are in the league.

Speaking to wba.co.uk as Albion prepare to enter the busy festive fixtures, Ridgewell is looking for the team to prove our doubters wrong and continue with our good form, starting with Wigan.

'I think we deserve to be there, in fact I think we deserve to have even more points. We've done really well but the main thing is to keep that going and show people it's not just the start of the season. Monday was a very big game because it was probably the biggest test for the new team since Roy left, I thought we did it very well and came through very solidly. We didn't really feel lots of pressure. Pressure is playing against Manchester United at Old Trafford when you're second from bottom, Monday was a night when we just had to make sure we did the right things.'

Ridgewell also says the aim of survival is still our aim, but anything that we can achieve over that this season will just be an added bonus as the club continues to grow.

In the meantime we just focus on the next match, and keep on going.
