'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Clarke - No Complaints Over Red

Steve Clarke has said that Mark Clattenburg made the right decision in sending off James Milner today.

Speaking to wba.co.uk following the game, our head coach said.

'I think the red card was the key card today. Shane's touch has put him in a position to get his shot away and I don't think Lescott would have got round on the cover. It was a marginal one and if the ref had not made that decision, I'd be disappointed.'

They say things even themselves up, as Clarke elsewhere commented on the soft freekicks City received?

Bottom line is despite the loss though we gave another good account of ourselves and battled all the way with City which many before the season started would not have predicted. Plenty of positives to take, even if we wish we could've held on for the draw.
