Clarke - City Will Be A Tough Test

Steve Clarke has said that Man City will be a difficult test for the players, but he's confident that we can put in a good performance.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke described the test as a huge 'mental' challenge for the lads, but he's relishing the chance of seeing us defend our 100% home record against the current Champions.

'You have to be right physically and mentally because the mental drain is big. For me it's a great game, it's the champions coming to our ground and we look forward to the challenge. It's up to us to make sure we're ready to give them a difficult match.'

Clarke says that the team can take a lot of heart from last seasons Boxing Day draw and that we can also draw inspiration from how we've acquitted ourselves against the big teams this season.

'It's good to remind the players they can stand up to a team of Man City's stature, but they know that and they've already played and stood up to good teams. We'll just approach the game with our normal mentality and try to get another positive result.'

Whatever happens we need to make sure we put in a positive shift so regardless of the result there are plenty of positives we can take from it, learn from, and continue moving forward as we have done all season.
