Shane In Long Praise From Clarke

Shane Long has been subject to a lot of praise from Steve Clarke following his performance against Liverpool, and he's expecting more to come from the Republic of Ireland international.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the Spurs game, Clarke said that Long had a point to prove after his last season was interrupted by injury, but he has all the qualities necessary to prove that point and become a Premiership star.

'I thought Shane was fantastic in the game, that's what he can do. He came here last year with a lot of expectation on his shoulders, he was a big signing and he had an interrupted season due to injuries. He's a man who's got something to prove this season and I think he showed a little bit of that last weekend.'
