Lukaka Talks Of Albion Pull

Steve Clarke has already said Romelu Lukaku was desperate to join the Baggies on loan, and now the striker's revealed why.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after making his loan move to the club for the season, Lukaku said Steve Clarke was a huge pull when he laid out the role the 19 year old would play this season, and that proved to be the icing on the cake after already seeking the advice of Robbie Di Matteo and Eddie Newton.

'I'm really, very happy to be here. Since the first day I spoke to Chelsea about going out on loan, I've spoken to the gaffer here a lot. He was the first person who contacted me and that means a lot. He's been speaking to me every week since asking about my situation. When you have a gaffer like that who has a desire to bring you to his club, as a young man, you feel confident to make the step into the unknown.'

Romelu continues.

'I heard lots of positives about the club from Roberto Di Matteo and Eddie Newton. They really convinced me to come here. Frank Lampard and John Terry also spoke highly about the gaffer.'

Steve has already talked about Lukaku's desire to succeed, and added when discussing the Forest game.

'Romelu wants to work. He's already asking me for extra shooting sessions and he hasn't even started training yet. That tells you he has a hunger to learn.'

Sounds hugely positive so far doesn't it.

Hopefully he gets lots of game time with your team.

Well nearest comparison was when we had Vela from Arsenal, and he got reasonable game time and obviously with the Robbie and Clarke links between the two clubs now, I'm sure he'll get a good shot as long as his form deserves it.
